Japan Swimming Federation (JASF) will recognize only records set with FINA approved swimsuits.

JASF announced Sunday that starting from next month will recognize only record set using FINA approved swimsuits.

Moreover, from April 1st 2010 swimmers are requested to compete with such equipment while swimmers which do not wear approved swimsuit could compete in swim meetings until March 31, 2010, so that all the athletes may be supplied with new equipment.
