Yao Zhengjie was named China's national swimming coach. He replaces Zhang Yadong who will serve as the vice-president of a sports academy in Zhejiang province.

Yadong stepped down as head coach after guiding the national team through Beijing Olympics, where it won 6 medals (a gold, three silvers and two bronzes).
