Fina Open Water Swimming Grand Prix

Bulgaria's Peter Stoychev and Esther Nunez of Spain won the 37th edition of the Rio Coronda Swimming Marathon in Santa Fe, Argentina, yeasterday.

Stoychev completed the 57km course along the river "Rio Coronda" from Coronda and Santa Fe, in 6h57:52 ahead of Germany's Alexander Studzinski (6h57:59) and Italian Rodolfo Valenti (6h58:58).

Nunez won the women's race in 7h26:08 with Australian Sehelley Clark and Argentina Pilar Geijo placed 2nd and 3rd respectively, in 7h28:45 and 7h31:05.

The next race of the Trophy is the “XVI Edition of the Hernandarias – Paraná International Swimming Marathon” that will be held next Sunday over a distance of 88km.

10km Fina World Cup

Brazilian Ana Marcela Cunha won the 10 km Maratona Aquática Internacional de Santos/Troféu Renata Agondi, 1st leg of the fina World Cup, in 2h16:48, for the second straight year.

Italy's Martina Grimaldi was second in 2h16:50 and compatriot Alice Franco followed a second later.

Evgeny Drattsev of Russia won the male contest in 2h14:12.03 with Chad Ho from South Africa narrowly second in 2h14:12.44, while tohe bronze medal went to Brazilian Allan do Carmo (2h145:13).

The next race of the tournament will be held in Videma, Argentina, on Saturday.
