Olympic and world champion Leisel Jones has withdrawn from Victorian championships, Swimming Australia said in a statement.
The three-time Olympic gold medallist has broken a little toe while at home 10 days ago.
"It seems crazy that a broken little toe can keep me out of racing, and I was fully expecting to be right to swim, but after an x-ray this morning the doctor has said that the breaststroke kick is not helping the toe recover," said the 24-year-old swimmer.
The Victorian Championships will be held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre from 15-18 January, and will be the first major long course championships of the year, under the new FINA swimsuit regulations.
