Swimming stars expected at Manchester meet

The best swimmers from USA and Europe should be back in the water tomorrow and Saturday afternoon for another race after the short-course Europeans, and will go head-to-head for supremacy in the pool.

Both teams will include up to 18 men and 18 women with British Swimming, Germany and Italy joined under the team name of E-Stars.

LEN Changes headquarters

After 15 years in Rome, LEN, the European Swimming League, changes headquarters and will be based in Luxembourg, home of current President of the League, Nory Krutchen.

The LEN members voted this past weekend for the move in the new head office.

Meanwhile, the Bureau allocated the 2011 LEN Congress to Reykjavik in Iceland; the next Congress will take place in Limassol, Cyprus in 2010, and Belgrade has been awarded to host the 2011 European Junior Championships in Swimming, Diving and Synchronised Swimming.

US Swim Star Hardy has 2012 Olympics at risk

She will face a court that could exclude the American from the London Games since WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, want the swimmer banned for two years and ruled out of the 2012 Olympics.

Hardy, 22, tested positive for the supplement clenbuterol, a prohibited anabolic agent, in a disputed drug test weeks before she was to swim at the Beijing Olympics.

She returned to competition at the US Open championships last August then she won the Fina World Cup and set several world marks during this tournament.
