Hungary: Laszlo Cseh has set a new European short-course record for the men’s 200 metres individual medley, at the national championships in Szazhalombatta on Friday 13, the first day of the event.
Cseh, 24, won the title in 1:52.85 to shave 0.14 seconds off his own existing mark set at the European Championships in Debrecen in 2007.

Belgium. Belgian Olympian Stef Verachten announced his retirement from competitive swimming on Sunday.
Verachten, 26, attended the Beijing Games and holds the 400 metres freestyle and 200 individual medley national records.
He has swam his last race on Sunday at the nationals champs in Wachtebeke, winning the 200m individual medley in a new Belgian record of 2 minutes, 1.40 seconds.
