Fesikov sets 100 metres individual medley world mark

BERLIN – Sergey Fesikov of Russia has broken the world record in the men's 100 metres individual medley on a short-course at a World Cup meet.

Fesikov, 20, clocked 50.95 seconds in a qualifying heat in Berlin on Saturday to beat the mark of 51.15 set last year at Manchester Worlds by American Ryan Lochte.
