Germany’s Steffen Deibler has wiped 0.12 seconds off the world record in the men's 50 metres butterfly.
The 22-year-old from Hamburg was timed 22.06 seconds at the International Swim meet in Aachen, Germany, on a short-course on Saturday, eclipsing the previous world mark of 22.18 set by Amaury Leveaux of France at last year’s Europeans.
