American swimming star Amanda Beard announced that she got married and is 5 1/2 months pregnant, people.com reported yesterday.

Beard, 27, and photographer Sacha Brown, 34, married in Wakatobi, an archipelago off Indonesia, on May 1.

The swimmer competed on the U.S. Olympic swim team in 1996, 2000 and 2004, winning a gold medal in the 200 metres breaststroke in Athens. She also won silver medals in the 200m individual medley and in the 400m medley relay.

In 2005 she was featured in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue then on July 2007 she posed for Playboy.
