SYDNEY - Australian Matt Jaukovic broke the world record in the non-Olympic 50-metres butterfly at a World Cup meet in Sydney on Saturday.

Jaukovic finished in a time of 22.50 seconds, taking 0.10 seconds off Brazilian Kaio Almeida mark set in 2005.

Jaukovic, 23-year-old, is a native of Montenegro and took Australian citizenship in January.
