BEIJING – Russian teenager Yuliya Efimova bettered the women's European 100 metres breaststroke record clocking 1:06.08 (31.13) in the final heat of this event.

Efimova, 16, beat the 1:07.06 set by Mirna Jukic of Austria in the 5th qualification heat.
