CANBERRA - Australian stars Leisel Jones and Libby Trickett claim world short-course records at at the swim meet in Canberra on Saturday.
The 23-year-old Jones clocked 1 minute, 03.72 seconds for the 100 metres breaststroke and lowered her previous world mark by 0.14 seconds, set at the Australian Nationals in Hobart in 2006.
Trickett, formerly Lenton, hit the wall at 55.74 seconds in the women's 100 metres butterfly to pull 0.15 off compatriot Felicity Galvez’ record set at the world championships in Manchester this month.
