EINDHOVEN – Milorad Cavic of Serbia and Alexander Dale Oen of Norway set two new European records in the 50 metres butterfly and 100 metres breastroke respectively.
Cavic, won the 50 metres butterfly European title in 23.11 bettering his own mark of 23.25 that he has set in yesterday’s semi-final.
Dale Oen won gold in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 59.76 seconds. The previous record was set by Russian Roman Sloudnov in 59.94 at the World championships in Fukuoka on July 23 2001.
Also second placed Hugues Duboscq of France was under the previous record, winning silver in 59.78.
In other highlights, Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh ranked first in the 200 metres individual medley semi-final in a new competition record of 1:57.90.
