Dutch women set new world record

DEBRECEN - The Netherlands set a new world record for the women's 4x50 metres freestyle relay at the European short-course championships in Debrecen this afternoon.

Inge Dekker, Hinkelien Schreuder, Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Marleen Veldhuis clocked 1 minute, 34.82 seconds in the evening's final.

They beat the mark of 1:36.27 set by Dutch quartet of Hinkelien Schreuder, Inge Dekker, Chantal Groot and Marleen Veldhuis at the 2005 edition of the championships in Trieste, Italy, on December 9, 2005.
