Romania's Camelia Potec, the Olympic 200 metres freestyle champion, does not intend to swim this event at the Worlds Championships in Melbourne: "My main targets are the 400 and 800m because the 200m final has become quite impossible to qualify for," she said.

Potec, 25, announced her retirement from athletic activity just days after her gold in Athens but changed her mind a few weeks later.

Potec is listed together with Razvan Florea amongst a seleciotn of ten swimmers which will represent Romania at forthcoming Worlds.
