BERLIN. Oleg Lisogor of Ukraine set a European short course record in the men's 100 metre breaststroke and only just missed out on the world record at the World Cup meet in Berlin.

Lisogor clocked 57.67 seconds to shave .06 second off the previous mark set by Roman Sloudnov in Stockholm on January 23, 2002.
