SYDNEY. Libby Lenton has broken the 200 metres freestyle world record at a World Cup swim meet in Sydney.

Lenton won in 1 minute, 53.29 seconds, beating the old mark held by American Lindsay Benko of 1:54.04 set in Moscow at the 2002 SC Worlds.
